The assistance provided by Hogar Bambi continues and it takes many forms.
Following the earthquake, 15 additional children were welcomed into Hogar Bambi. At the same time, facilities were prepared to provide a safe haven for more children and young people affected by the disaster.
Yet the help extends far beyond the walls of the children’s home. The team is active directly in emergency shelters, speaking with families, identifying specific needs for support, and paying special attention to the children’s well-being.
The emotional impact of the earthquake must not be overlooked, either. Psychological and educational specialists are supporting children and families, helping them cope with fear, stress, and their traumatic experiences, while creating safe spaces—amidst this crisis—where they can play, talk, and catch their breath.
Relief efforts are being coordinated with other local organizations to ensure that available resources are deployed where they are needed most urgently.
